Safer Recruitment Practice Policy Statement
We are committed to adopting a consistent and thorough process of safer recruitment in order to ensure that people who are unsuitable to work with young people are prevented from doing so. Our vetting process requires all applicants who apply for a role to fully complete and submit a Young People First Employment Application Form.
Applicants who are successful at interview will undergo a series of checks prior to any offer of employment being made, including identity checks, enhanced Disclosure Barring Services checks, employment, character and education references and gap verification checks.
For applicants who may have lived outside of the UK for six months or more, a Certificate of Good Conduct will be requested from the relevant country (or countries) in which they lived.
We aim to recruit the best candidate for each vacancy, and appointments will be determined solely by objective assessment methods relevant to the role. No applicant will be treated less favourably than another on the grounds of gender reassignment, marital status, pregnancy or having a child, disability, race including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion, belief or lack of religion / belief, sex or sexual orientation.
In line with The Asylum and Immigration Act 2006, we will only accept applications from candidates who have the legal right to work in the UK.
